- Sierra Mission Partnership
Each presbytery had appointed mission study and visioning task forces to
evaluate the work of the Sierra Mission Partnership (SMP) in 2008. As 2009
unfolded before us a number of steps were taken to facilitate the work of the
teams, particularly in bringing the three groups together to share with each
other their processes and the status of their findings. A first meeting of the
three chairs was held and they took next step proposals to each of their
presbyteries. A second meeting with members of the three teams was called for
May of 2009 with consultant Jill Hudson convening to facilitate the
conversation. The documents below give you a window into this process and the
resulting recommendations for dissolution of the Partnership.
Each presbytery has responded with the ultimate outcome that the Sierra
Mission Partnership will be dissolved effective December 31, 2010. Please
review the work of each presbytery task force to see the questions addressed and
the decisions reached.
- Nevada - The Presbtery of Nevada has received the Dissolution recommendation and
voted to move through the process to conclude the presbytery's participation in
the Sierra Mission Partnership. Action taken at the presbytery meeting
September 15, 2009.
